Apples come from a tree in the Rosaceae family, native to Central Asia. In Italy, there are about 2,000 varieties of apples. The apple tree is a small deciduous tree that can reach a height of between 5 and 12 meters, with a dense crown and shallow roots.
\nThe leaves are simple, oval-shaped, with an acute apex and a rounded base, measuring between 5 and 12 centimeters long and between 3 and 6 centimeters wide. They are smooth above and slightly hairy below, with a petiole 2 to 5 cm long.
\nThe flowers are hermaphrodite, white inside and pinkish-white outside, 2.5 to 3.5 cm wide. Each flower has five petals and is part of a corymb-shaped inflorescence consisting of 3-7 flowers. Flowering occurs in spring, and pollination is aided by insects.
\nThe fruit, called pome, is medium-sized and weighs about 200 grams. It has a round shape, a skin that varies from green to yellow and red depending on the degree of ripeness, and pale flesh. The apples are harvested when fully ripe in our orchards during autumn, when they reach the perfect balance between sweetness and freshness. Processing takes place within a few hours of harvesting, directly in our laboratory in Alba, to preserve all their organoleptic properties intact. Only pure apple, nothing else.
