It is a deciduous plant belonging to the Fagaceae family, cultivated for centuries for its wood, fruit and, more recently, for its important beekeeping value.
Chestnut woods are often tended by humans, easily accessible and located on gently sloping terrain. Some chestnut trees are centuries old and recognised as “monumental trees” for their historical and landscape significance.
From a beekeeping point of view, chestnut honey is known for its dark, almost amber colour, slow crystallisation and intense aroma, with woody and undergrowth notes. It has a strong flavour, with a typical bitter note, and its composition is particularly rich in mineral salts. The honey can vary slightly in colour and flavour depending on the ratio of nectar to honeydew present in the harvest.
It is a robust honey, loved by those who seek intense and natural flavours, and is one of the most characteristic varieties in Italian beekeeping.

We carefully monitor the flowering of the chestnut trees (Castanea sativa) that grow on the hills of Alba, a rich and generous territory that allows our bees to produce a unique honey, an authentic expression of the environment in which it is born.
Chestnut honey from the hills of Alba is distinguished by its dark amber colour, very slow crystallisation and intense aroma of undergrowth. It has a strong flavour, with a persistent taste and a pleasantly bitter aftertaste, appreciated by those who seek authentic and structured flavours. Precisely because of its intensity, it is perfect with mature cheeses, such as Castelmagno or Raschera, but it also surprises with tasty vegetarian dishes, such as savoury pies, legumes and grilled vegetables, to which it adds depth and character.

[89

0":"post-10826","1":"product","2":"type-product","3":"status-publish","4":"has-post-thumbnail","6":"product_cat-abbinamenti-formaggi-e-carni","8":"first","9":"instock","10":"shipping-taxable","11":"purchasable","12":"product-type-simple
["GET
