Varietal characteristics
Courgettes grown in Piedmont is an annual herbaceous plant belonging to the Cucurbitaceae family, native to Central and South America. Sown between March and May, it is harvested during the summer until the first frosts. It has a cylindrical or round shape, firm white flesh, and green skin striped or speckled with yellow. The plant grows in a bushy form and also produces edible flowers that are highly prized in cooking.
