Varietal characteristics
The grilled onions we produce are made with a Piedmontese variety of Borettana onion, known for its small size, tender flesh and sweet, delicate flavour.
Grown in the fertile soil of Piedmont and harvested only once a year, they are processed while still very fresh: cleaned, carefully grilled to enhance their flavour and then preserved in jars with extra virgin olive oil and aromatic herbs.
Grilling preserves their crunchiness and gives them a unique aroma, keeping all the qualities of the raw ingredient intact.
