Varietal characteristics
Our company has always grown berries in the orchards of Alba, Langhe and Roero.
They are harvested strictly by hand several times during the season to respect their natural ripening process and allow us to obtain a product that is perfectly ripe. This gives us a naturally sweet, high-quality raw material that we process within a few hours of harvesting.
Our Wild Berry Compote is prepared with a selection of characteristic fruits.
We start with the blueberry, a wild plant that grows in many areas of Europe. It is short, no more than 40 centimetres tall, and produces small dark berries covered with a light bloom and intensely coloured flesh. Next is the redcurrant, with its clusters of translucent red or pink berries, which have a lively, sweet and slightly tart flavour. The trio is completed by blackberries, which are juicy and full-flavoured, adding a sweet and smooth note that perfectly balances the tartness of the redcurrants in our jam.
