Sweetomato mela

Our fruit sauces are born from our farming tradition. For generations, we have passionately grown fruit on our land in Alba: apricots, pears, peaches, plums, and apples. These fruits are part of our history and our daily work, and today they become the stars of a new, different, and surprising sauce.
We wanted to combine the wisdom of the land with innovation: this is how our fruit sauces were created, conceived as something original and unique. Their distinctive flavour naturally softens the acidity of tomato, making these sauces light and versatile, perfect for a wide range of preparations.
We produce them using over 50% fruit, harvested only when it has reached the right level of ripeness. All ingredients are processed fresh, within a few hours of harvesting, to preserve their aroma and quality as much as possible. The result is a sauce with a delicate yet bold taste that surprises and delights.
They are excellent for seasoning pasta: simply heat the required amount and add it directly for a quick yet flavourful dish. They are also perfect with boiled meats, on bruschetta, or for creatively enhancing everyday recipes.

Varietal characteristics

Tomatoes have ancient origins in South America, particularly in the Andean regions, where they were already cultivated by pre-Columbian civilizations. After the discovery of the Americas, they were introduced to Europe, first through Spain and then spreading throughout Italy. Initially considered an ornamental plant, it was only in the 18th century that the tomato began to be appreciated as a food.
In Italy, the tomato found an ideal environment to thrive thanks to the variety of soils and favorable climate. Cultivation is mainly concentrated in the plains.
For our tomato purée, we select prized varieties such as San Marzano, valued for its elongated shape, firm pulp, and low seed content—features ideal for processing into preserves. Cultivation follows traditional and organic methods, respecting the land and the product, to ensure quality, authentic taste, and wholesomeness.
